Answering Your Goalie Jersey Questions

You are probably wondering what are goalie jerseys.  What are they used for? Why does almost every goalie wear one?  The answers are simple.  Goalie jerseys are shirts occasionally containing pads in them and/or long sleeve shirts.  Generally, they are made out of a material that is extremely hard to rip.  This is done to prevent any holes occurring in your goalie jersey from scrapes against the ground.  They are used for both looks and protection on your elbows.  My previous blogs go into more detail on the goalie jerseys protecting your elbows and how they contribute to your looks.  Almost every goalie wears a goalie jersey for two main reasons.  One of them being they cannot wear the same jersey as the field players because it against the rules for the goalie to wear the same jersey.  This is also stated in more detail in an earlier posted blog.   The second intention that goalies have when wearing a goalie jersey is to set themselves apart from all of the other soccer players and hopefully grab the attention of scouts.  It is mostly every goalie goal to make it big time and go pro and maybe even play in the world cup someday.  With scouts it is a lot easier to complete this goal and have your dream job.  Therefore, if you end up wearing a goalie jersey you can catch the attention of a scout and have them observe you a little more. If this happens then you could possibly make their team with the help of your goalie jersey.
